וספרתם לכם Counting Up

"וספרתם לכם" היא תערוכה שתעסוק בנושא של ספירה. ציון ימים בהקשר של ספירת העומר, וגם בהקשר של ספירת זמן בישראל של היום. את המאפיינים של ספירת העומר – הטקס היום-יומי של ציון מעבר יום; התהליך הרוחני של צמיחה כלפי מעלה ובנייה מחדש; היציבות המתקבלת בעזרת מבנה של זמן – כל אלו ניתן למצוא בעבודותיהם של אמנים בישראל המגיבים לחיים כאן מאז השביעי באוקטובר. 

התערוכה כוללת יצירות עכשוויות על תהליך ספירת העומר, כמו הגיפים של הלל סמית' העוברים בין הייצוג הספרתי של כל יום לבין הייצוג של אותו מספר באותיות, או סדרה של 49 איורים מיסטיים של האמן הטרנס ג'יי סמית' (אין קשר בין הסמית'ים). מצד שני יוצגו האיורים של רותם קודיש המתעדים את מאה הימים הראשונים אחרי שבן זוגה חזר ממילואים, או עגילי הטקסטיל היומיים שהכינה רקפת כנען לאורך התקופה הקשה לפני השביעי באוקטובר, ובימים הקשים עוד יותר אחרי. העבודות בתערוכה הן עבודות קיימות למעט מיצג חדש של זאב אנגלמאיר שיעסוק בעבודה היומית הכרוכה באיור הגלויות שלו.

יום סדנאות - 15.4 | 14:30-11:30 פתוח לקהל הרחב ללא צורך בהרשמה או רכישת כרטיס. יהיו סיורים ופעילות בתערוכה, וסדנאות ספירה בנושאים של עיצוב ואמנות, איור, ומוזיקה.

Counting Up

"Counting Up" is an exhibition centered on the theme of counting, looking at how we mark days in the context of the Omer counting, as well as tracking time in contemporary Israel. The characteristics of the Omer count—the daily ritual of marking the passage of time, the spiritual process of growth and renewal, and the stability provided by structured time—are all reflected in the works of Israeli artists responding to life here since October 7th.

The exhibition features contemporary pieces on the process of counting the Omer, such as Hillel Smith’s GIFs that shift between the numerical and alphabetical representation of each day, or a series of 49 mystical illustrations by trans artist Jay Smith (no relation). On the other hand, the exhibition also includes Rotem Kodish’s illustrations documenting the first 100 days after her partner returned from reserve duty, and the daily textile earrings crafted by Rakefet Knaan throughout the difficult period before October 7th and the even harder days that followed. Most of the works in the exhibition are pre-existing pieces, except for a new installation by Zeev Engelmayer, which explores the daily labor involved in creating his illustrated postcards.

Workshop Day: April 15, 11:30–14:30 – Open to the public, no registration or ticket required. The event will include exhibition tours, activities, and counting-themed workshops in design, art, illustration, and music.
